Job Description
This job opening is with a busy pediatric healthcare facility that specializes in providing compassionate and comprehensive care to children and their families. Known for its patient-centered approach, the facility emphasizes delivering high-quality medical services in a supportive and friendly environment. The establishment is committed to fostering an atmosphere where patients and families feel welcomed and cared for from the moment they enter the clinic. With a professional staff dedicated to excellence in pediatric healthcare, the organization integrates advanced medical systems and innovative patient management techniques to ensure both effective treatment and excellent service delivery. The office upholds the highest standards of patient confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and administrative organization to provide a seamless healthcare experience.
The role of Front Desk Registration Receptionist is a vital front-facing position within this pediatric healthcare setting. As the first point of contact for patients and their families, this full-time role (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some Saturday mornings) involves managing core administrative and customer service functions that support daily clinical operations. The receptionist will greet patients warmly, efficiently handle patient registration and check-in processes, verify insurance information, and collect payments. This position also requires expertise in scheduling various types of appointments, optimizing provider calendars, and handling cancellations and urgent visit requests.
In addition to registration and scheduling duties, the receptionist supports communications by professionally managing a multi-line phone system, directing inquiries to relevant clinical staff, and addressing patient concerns with empathy and professionalism. The role includes administrative responsibilities such as processing payments, maintaining electronic and paper records, updating patient information in electronic medical records systems, and assisting with prior authorizations and referrals. The receptionist will contribute to maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front office and assist the nursing staff as needed.
Ideal candidates for this position will have a high school diploma or equivalent, prefer previous medical office or customer service experience, and be familiar with electronic medical records systems. Strong communication, multitasking, and computer skills (including Microsoft Office) are essential. Candidates must also demonstrate professionalism, reliability, confidentiality, and a calm demeanor in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare environment. Physical requirements include the ability to sit for extended periods, operate computer and phone equipment, communicate clearly, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, health insurance and benefits, paid time off, and holidays. It provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a rewarding career in pediatric healthcare administration with direct impact on patient satisfaction and clinic efficiency.
