Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Ability to work part-time hours including Saturdays
- Patience and sensitivity to patient emotions
- Knowledge of basic computer operations
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Good communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to attend training and meetings
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand information and present information one-on-one with patients
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out details written or verbally instructed
- Basic computer knowledge
- Experience with dental management software preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
- Organizational skills and detail oriented
- Interpersonal and listening skills
- Previous dental office experience preferred but not required
- Training provided
Job Duties
- Greet and check in patients
- Answer the phone and schedule appointments
- Maintain patient accounts and records
- Know and understand insurance plan rules and protocols and follow them
- Be patient and sensitive to patient emotions
- Listen to patients and healthcare workers and follow directions from a dentist or supervisor
- Verify patients insurance
- Ensure all record keeping requirements are fully and accurately completed
- Submit claims to insurance companies
- Notify office manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns
- Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and regular office meetings
- Follow company policy and procedures
- Understand and follow HIPAA regulations, state and federal OSHA laws and safety standards and maintain confidentiality
- Perform other tasks as assigned
