Job Requirements
- High school education or GED equivalent
- minimum two years of medical office experience
- working knowledge of general office duties
- working knowledge of contracted insurance plans
- accurate data entry
- good verbal and written communication skills
- great telephone skills
- demonstrated ability to use a computer with Microsoft Word, Outlook and EMR software
- excellent customer service skills
- strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- ability to maintain confidentiality and thorough knowledge of HIPAA policy

Job Duties
- Welcome patients, visitors, and representatives in a friendly and prompt manner
- complete patient sign-in, paperwork, and security procedures
- update and verify patient demographics and insurance information
- prepare the office for daily business and secure the office at closing
- greet patients at checkout and coordinate follow-up appointments and treatment plans
- collect outstanding balances, deductibles, and coinsurances
- maintain and update prescription logs and product sales records
- balance and reconcile monetary collections daily
- post charges after provider approval
- maintain patient confidentiality
- report equipment or safety issues
- follow company policies and procedures
- utilize telephone courtesies
- adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and compliance regulations
- complete tasks within designated timelines
- perform additional duties as assigned
- maintain punctuality and professional appearance
- operate multi-line telephone systems, computers, and office equipment
- type at 60 wpm
- interact positively with patients and staff
- manage recall systems and appointment scheduling
