Job Description

Emmanuel Christian School is a well-established educational institution committed to providing a Christ-centered learning environment that nurtures students and supports families and staff. The school emphasizes creating a warm, organized, and welcoming atmosphere where students feel known, cared for, and safe. Aligning with Christian values, Emmanuel Christian School focuses on fostering a community that values consistency, stability, and long-term growth for all members. It offers a comprehensive range of academic and extracurricular programs designed to promote academic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth. The school operates through a structured school year calendar, providing a supportive and relational environment that encourages positive connections among students, staff, and families.

The position available is a full-time, 10-month Front Desk Receptionist role that plays an essential part in representing the school’s welcoming presence. This role is responsible for managing the daily operations at the front office while supporting communication, hospitality, student needs, and administrative systems. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a structured yet relational setting, enjoys serving people, values consistency and stability, and desires to become an integral part of the Emmanuel Christian School community. The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for families, visitors, staff, and students, helping to create a calm and organized environment that reflects the school’s Christian mission.

The Front Desk Receptionist works typical school hours aligned with the academic calendar, with limited summer hours occasionally required for training or school year preparations. Core responsibilities include providing excellent hospitality by welcoming and assisting visitors, managing security and visitor check-in procedures, answering phones, and responding to inquiries. Additionally, this role supports student needs by assisting students arriving late or leaving early, helping with sign-in/sign-out processes, and communicating student needs to teachers and staff. Administrative duties encompass organizing mail and deliveries, maintaining office systems, supporting calendar and announcement management, and aiding in daily operational flow during school arrival and dismissal. The Receptionist also assists with attendance tracking and maintaining accurate student records.

Furthermore, the role involves community engagement and event support, such as assisting during school events, welcoming prospective families, coordinating volunteers, and fostering a positive family experience. The ideal candidate for this position is warm, dependable, relational, and communicates clearly and kindly. They are adept at maintaining organization and follow-through, working well with children and families, and supporting the school’s Christian worldview. They can remain calm during busy moments, handling interruptions professionally while ensuring confidentiality and a smooth front office atmosphere.

Emmanuel Christian School values strengths such as empathy, communication, responsibility, harmony, and consistency in their employees, with preferred qualifications including prior administrative or customer service experience, proficiency with office technology like Google Workspace, and an ability to learn school-specific systems such as FACTS. The successful Front Desk Receptionist contributes significantly to how families experience the school by ensuring interactions leave a feeling that the school values them and operates with excellence.
