We are currently seeking a motivated, friendly, and reliable Front Desk Staff member to join our dynamic team on a full-time or part-time basis. This role is vital as the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring smooth and efficient operations at the front desk with a focus on exceptional customer service. The position offers a competitive salary based on experience, ranging from $16.50 to $20.00 per hour. As a Front Desk Staff member at Icon Eye Care, you will play an essential role in managing patient interactions, from greeting and checking in patients to handling appointment scheduling and assisting with insurance verification. Your responsibilities will include managing patient communications through phone calls and emails, supporting the optical department by helping patients select eyewear, and providing clear explanations of frame and lens options along with insurance benefits. Additionally, you will be responsible for cashier duties, processing transactions, and maintaining accurate patient records.

This role demands excellent multitasking skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with optometrists and other office staff. You will help create a seamless patient experience by efficiently supporting administrative tasks such as filing, inventory tracking, and ensuring the office remains organized and presentable. Previous experience in customer service or a front desk role is preferred, especially within an optometry office, although comprehensive training will be provided.

Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required, as it enhances communication within our diverse patient community. Job Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently check them in for their appointments, ensuring all required paperwork is completed and accurate
  • Manage patient appointment scheduling, ensuring that the calendar is up-to-date and appointments are booked in a timely manner
  • Answer patient calls, emails, and inquiries, providing information regarding services, appointments, and insurance coverage
  • Participate in the optical department by helping patients select eyewear, assisting with frame and lens options, and explaining insurance benefits
  • Verify and process insurance information, ensuring that claims are filed correctly and patients are informed about their coverage
  • Handle patient payments, process transactions, and provide receipts
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure that all necessary documentation is in place
  • Work alongside optometrists and other staff members to provide a seamless patient experience
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, inventory tracking, and ensuring that the office is organized and presentable
