Job Description

American Family Care (AFC) is a leading healthcare provider in the United States, revered for its commitment to delivering high-quality primary and urgent care services. Established with the aim of making healthcare accessible and efficient, AFC operates state-of-the-art centers throughout the nation. These centers are open seven days a week, allowing patients to receive care on a walk-in basis without the need for prior appointments. The company specializes in episodic treatment for acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. AFC clinics are fully equipped with onsite laboratories and in-house X-ray facilities, ensuring comprehensive diagnostic capabilities at the point of care. This infrastructure allows AFC to deliver prompt diagnosis and treatment, reducing the need for external referrals and enhancing patient convenience. AFC serves a diverse patient demographic and has built a reputation for exceptional patient care and streamlined medical services. The overarching goal of AFC is to provide accessible, reliable, and patient-focused healthcare that addresses the community's immediate health needs.

AFC is also the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF), which extends its reach through franchised locations. This particular position is tied to a franchised site, where direct patient interaction and administrative support duties come to life. The job role centers on patient check-in and check-out processes, which involve verifying insurance details, managing payments, and maintaining accurate patient records and accounts. The specialist in this role is crucial to maintaining patient flow smoothly and fostering positive relations throughout a patient's visit. By ensuring that all administrative procedures are handled efficiently, this position supports the clinical staff and enhances the overall patient experience. Employees in this role will engage in vital tasks such as preparing the clinic for daily operations, greeting and registering patients, verifying insurance coverage, processing payments, and handling follow-up appointment scheduling. The dynamic nature of the job requires attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to manage financial transactions accurately. Successful candidates will contribute to both the operational efficiency of the clinic and the quality of patient care delivered. Additionally, the work environment nurtures a supportive small business atmosphere with flexible scheduling options and comprehensive benefits, designed to promote work-life balance and employee well-being. This full-time, in-person position typically involves a 40-hour workweek and includes valuable employee perks such as health and dental insurance, vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plans, paid time off, employee discounts, and free uniforms. The role demands reliability, professionalism, punctuality, and a positive demeanor, all essential to sustaining the clinic's high standards of service.
