Job Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- formal training from a vocational school in lieu of a diploma
- one year of medical or similar office experience
- ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
- ability to operate office equipment including computers and copiers
- ability to type at least 35 wpm
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to multitask effectively
- friendly personality with desire to work with the public
- ability to lift or move up to 15 lbs
- attention to detail
- ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods
- good sensory skills such as visual acuity and hearing
- willingness to treat patients with kindness and consideration
- must believe in healthcare dignity for all
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED, formal vocational training accepted in lieu of diploma, at least one year of medical or similar office experience, proficiency with office equipment and computers, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, knowledge of medical terminology and triage procedures preferred, bilingual Spanish language skills preferred, ability to relate to diverse populations with dignity and respect, commitment to healthcare with dignity for all
Job Duties
- Welcome patients as they contact the center personally or by telephone and explain services, schedule appointments, direct walk-in patients and emergencies as per policies, answer and route incoming calls, register patients and collect all documentation, generate required patient documents ensuring completeness, verify patient insurance coverage and compute charges, collect deposits or co-pays prior to service, inform patients of outstanding balances and collect payments, work closely with providers and medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow, call and remind patients of appointments, follow up on no-show patients daily, communicate patient problems or complaints to clinic manager, demonstrate strong sensory and physical abilities necessary for duties, collaborate with clinic managers for patient follow-up, exhibit good speaking and listening skills, maintain knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office, understand community-based organizations, promote and believe in Elite DNA's mission, work bilingually in Spanish if possible
