Job Description

The City of Dallas in Oregon is a vibrant community-focused municipality dedicated to providing outstanding public services to its residents. The city operates various facilities and programs designed to enhance the quality of life and promote community wellness among its population. One such facility is the Dallas Aquatic Center, a comprehensive recreational venue that offers a range of aquatic programs, fitness opportunities, and leisure activities to the local community and visitors alike. The Aquatic Center aims to foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where individuals and families can enjoy the benefits of swimming and water-based activities. With a commitment to safety, professionalism, and excellent customer service, the Dallas Aquatic Center plays a key role in supporting the health and well-being of its community members.

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant at the Dallas Aquatic Center. This position offers a flexible schedule with a competitive hourly wage of $15.05 and operates under the Administration Department of the City of Dallas. The role is designed to support the center’s day-to-day functions through clerical and customer service duties that are essential to the smooth operations of the facility.

As an Administrative Assistant, your responsibilities will include the sales of passes and merchandise, managing registrations, maintaining accounting records, and providing general reception services to patrons and visitors. The role requires a person who is customer-service oriented, capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently, and skilled in using computer systems and accounting procedures. The ideal candidate should possess a working knowledge of aquatic facility operations and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a diverse community in a recreational environment.

This is a continuous recruitment position, meaning that while there may not currently be an open spot, a list of eligible candidates will be created for future openings. Your contribution will support not only administrative tasks but also help ensure that customers receive timely and accurate information and services. The role further requires the successful applicant to obtain CPR and food handlers certifications within 30 days of hire, reflecting the City’s commitment to maintaining high safety and health standards at the Aquatic Center.

Joining the City of Dallas means becoming part of a team that values diversity, equal opportunity, and a supportive work environment. The City complies with all relevant laws including Section 504 of The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and is committed to providing an inclusive workplace where all employees are treated with respect and dignity. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in working at the intersection of public administration, recreational services, and customer care in a community-oriented setting.
