Job Description
Summit Spine and Joint Centers (SSJC) is a rapidly growing, multi-state healthcare organization specializing in spine and joint care. Operating clinics across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, SSJC integrates clinical, surgical, and imaging services to deliver comprehensive patient care. With an emphasis on collaboration and high-quality, patient-centered treatment, SSJC supports its healthcare teams and continuously expands its reach and capabilities. The organization includes notable care teams such as IPS in North Carolina and Savannah Pain Management in Georgia, all unified under the SSJC umbrella. This networked approach enables SSJC to provide expert, specialized care to a wide regional patient base while fostering a culture of professional development and teamwork within its staff.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. This full-time, benefited position at Summit Spine and Joint Centers plays a vital role both in the clinical and administrative aspects of our ambulatory surgery centers (ASC). Reporting directly to the Front Desk Operations Manager, the position is primarily based at our Region 101 clinic locations, which include Greenville (ASC), Spartanburg, and Anderson. The schedule varies by location, with workdays ranging from Monday through Friday at specific times, subject to change based on coverage needs and ASC hours.
As a Front Desk Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, handling a wide range of duties that blend clerical tasks with clinical responsibilities. Comfort with seeing and handling blood is essential for this role, reflecting the clinical nature of many tasks performed. Your responsibilities will include greeting and checking in patients, collecting copayments, verifying insurance information, scheduling appointments, managing referrals, and preparing patient charts. Additionally, assisting patients by escorting them to their vehicles when necessary, processing messages between patients and medical or administrative staff, and reporting pertinent information to office management are key functions of the role.
This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment, and problem-solving aptitude. The Front Desk Receptionist must be detail-oriented, willing to travel among multiple clinic locations as needed, and open to cross-training in various clinical responsibilities to support the broader team. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 45 pounds, underscoring the hands-on nature of the position. Experience with electronic health record systems, particularly eClinicalWorks, is preferred, as is a minimum of one year of clinical experience. While a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
Joining Summit Spine and Joint Centers means contributing to a dynamic and expanding healthcare organization committed to excellence in spine and joint care. The opportunity not only allows for professional growth but also for making a meaningful impact on patients’ lives through exceptional service and care.
