Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • One or more years of experience in patient financial services, collecting services or insurance industry
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in office software including word processing, spreadsheet and database
  • Must possess and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Must sign an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • Knowledge of patient financial services and insurance industry experience
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in common office software including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience with cash collections preferred
  • Understanding of medical office scheduling and insurance verification preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform registration/check-in processes including data entry, providing intake forms, obtaining signatures and generating population health summary
  • Verify insurance eligibility and document benefits, assist in validating pre-certifications, referrals, and authorizations
  • Calculate and collect patient liability based on insurance verification and expected reimbursement, explain financial policies and alternative payment arrangements
  • Enter payments and charges for services rendered, perform daily reconciliation, balance cash drawer and prepare bank deposit paperwork
  • Schedule office visits and procedures both within the medical practice and externally as necessary, confirm patient appointments and ensure preparation for visits
  • Communicate proactively with patients through calls, emails, and in-person interactions to resolve concerns and optimize patient flow
  • Assist in processing patient medical records requests in compliance with policies and regulations
