Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years related experience preferably in a medical setting with insurance billing
  • proficiency in computer use and related software
  • excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • adaptability to new software applications

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • associate degree or higher preferred
  • 1 to 2 years related experience preferably in a medical setting with insurance billing
  • proficient in the use of computers and software such as Microsoft Office
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to multitask effectively
  • ability to adapt to supporting software applications

Job Duties

  • Schedule and input all appointments in scheduling module in a timely and efficient manner
  • assure all pre-procedure and preoperative activities are scheduled or completed
  • manage patient cancellations including center-initiated cancellations and additions to the schedule per center parameters
  • print patient schedules and pull patient charts daily
  • facilitate the admission process by greeting patients and visitors professionally and obtaining identification and insurance information
  • assemble and maintain patient medical and financial records confidentially
  • complete front-end billing processes ensuring all information is entered into registration system
  • perform insurance verification and complete prior authorizations or required actions
  • assist with patient transportation if qualified
  • ensure appropriate signatures on all necessary chart and admissions data
  • ensure accuracy when scanning and filing documents within 24 hours
  • communicate changes about procedure and insurance identified during patient visits to appropriate parties and patient record
  • perform daily encounter checks to assure reporting accuracy
  • coordinate collection, processing, maintenance, storage, retrieval, documentation, and distribution of medical records per policy
  • assure documentation of logs for medical record releases
  • provide information for research or study projects involving patient care as per policy
  • oversee materials, inventory shipments, and deliveries
  • perform other duties as assigned
