Job Requirements

- minimum 2 years experience in hospitality, customer service, administrative, or related field

Job Duties
- manages complex hotel group reservations in hotel property management systems
- serves as a trainer for new part time and full-time front desk coordinators
- works with front desk manager on feedback and task assignments for part time staff
- applies advanced deposit to future reservations on high demand dates
- displays moderate decision-making for upgrades and complimentary amenities for guest recovery and VIP enhancement
- acts as guest services leader at the front desk for guest issues and anticipates future problems or requests
- provides guidance to part-time and student staff in manager absence
- performs front desk agent functions including check in/check out, answering telephones, making reservations, and providing guest information
- resolves guest issues impacting guest stay and impression
- ensures timely and friendly guest assistance and coordinates staff breaks for coverage
- corresponds with guests through electronic communication channels
- applies payments and handles credit card and cash payments
- promotes Indiana Memorial Union dining facilities
- reports end of day and performs basic number reconciliation
- checks accuracy of rates and guest folios
- prepares reports and assignments for upcoming day
