Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalency
- 2-3 years medical office experience
- bilingual in English and Spanish
- basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- at least one year experience in customer service or reception in healthcare
- knowledge of medical terminology
- ability to handle difficult or irate callers professionally
- outstanding communication and customer service skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

- bilingual in English and Spanish
- basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- at least one year of customer service or reception experience, preferably in healthcare
- knowledge of medical terminology and organizational services

Job Duties
- completes office activities such as filing, telephone answering techniques, preparation of documents, record retention, duplication, faxing, mail distribution, and ordering of supplies
- confirms appointments, verifies insurance, verifies I.D. of each patient, manages pre-authorizations, logs problems, returns phone calls, ensures patient paperwork is completed within 72 hours, schedules patients to be seen in order of appointments
- composes and prepares correspondence, invoices, reports, presentations, and maintains appropriate files
- maintains and stocks supplies in designated areas, checks equipment for proper function and reports malfunctions
- prepares patient charts with all proper consents signed (non-clinical)
- appropriately schedules appointments and meetings
- addresses patient complaints promptly and effectively
- maintains constant communication with Office Manager and Senior Practice Manager
- provides administrative and clerical support when necessary
- complies with HIPAA Privacy and Confidentiality policies
- participates in department's quality improvement plan
- maintains patient confidentiality and schedules patients into EMR with appropriate billing
- acts as a messenger as required
- organizes center's calendars and liaises between medical professionals and patients
- performs other duties as assigned
