The Guest Service Agent position at Shamin Hotels plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by managing front desk operations efficiently. Reporting to the Front Office Manager within the Operations Department, this hourly role involves interacting directly with guests both in-person and virtually to facilitate smooth check-ins and check-outs. The agent's responsibilities include registering guests, assigning rooms, issuing keys, handling payments, and providing guests with detailed information about hotel services and local attractions. This role requires a combination of excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality. Essential duties include managing reservations, maintaining accounts, answering guest inquiries about dining, entertainment, and travel, and supporting seamless communication within the hotel departments.

Job Requirements

  • Reliable mode of transportation
  • Prior proven experience as a front desk agent preferred

Job Duties

  • Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests
  • Issues room key and escort instructions to Bell person or guest without announcing room numbers
  • Date-stamps, sorts, and racks incoming mail and messages
  • Transmits and receives messages using telephone, fax and switchboard
  • Answers inquiries about hotel services, registration, dining, shopping, entertainment and travel directions
  • Keeps records of room availability and guests' accounts
  • Computes bills, collects payments, and makes change for guests
  • Makes, confirms and cancels reservations
  • Posts charges such as room, food, liquor or telephone
  • Makes restaurant, transportation or entertainment reservations
  • Deposits guests' valuables in hotel safe or safe-deposit box
  • Orders complimentary flowers or champagne for special guests as directed
  • Understands and enforces company credit policies
  • Accounts for all cash and makes deposits per policies
  • Communicates with front office and hotel departments
  • Reports to work for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform
  • Complies with company policies and procedures
  • Greets guests in a friendly and warm manner
  • Cross sells other Shamin Hotels
  • Performs other related duties as required
