This particular role is based at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH), located at Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, HI, specifically serving in the SEMPER FIT MCBH Fitness Center. The position available is for a FLEX Front Desk Attendant NF1 within MCCS. This job is a flexible role that involves direct interaction with patrons of the Marine Corps Base Hawaii Fitness Centers, where the incumbent plays a crucial part in maintaining the facility's operations and ensuring a welcoming and secure environment. As a Front Desk Attendant, the individual is responsible for providing top-tier customer service and overseeing recreational activities while enforcing adherence to rules, safety protocols, and facility regulations.

Key responsibilities include assisting authorized patrons by providing information and guidance on the use of fitness equipment and amenities. The Front Desk Attendant will also monitor the security of the premises, contribute to clerical and custodial tasks, manage routine reporting, and operate cash registers for payment processing. This role requires a customer-centric approach with an emphasis on courteous and effective communication to resolve issues promptly and professionally. The incumbent is expected to uphold workplace safety by reporting hazards and adhering to established standards and protocols, including those related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and sexual harassment prevention.

This position is integral to the daily functioning and upkeep of the fitness center, with a priority focus on cleanliness, sanitization, and the enforcement of rules that ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons. Candidates are expected to have prior experience, ideally six months in related recreational activities, and possess the physical capability to handle lifting duties necessary for facility maintenance. Overall, this role is a blend of customer service, physical activity, and administrative duties, offering an opportunity to contribute significantly to the welfare of the Marine Corps community at MCB Hawaii.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • six months experience in recreational activity or related field
  • ability to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently
  • ability to lift objects over 45lbs with assistance
  • strong communication skills

  • adherence to safety and regulatory standards

Job Qualifications

  • Six months experience in the assigned recreational activity is desired
  • skill to learn MCCS policies rules and regulations
  • ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • knowledge of basic mathematics
