The role of Front Desk Attendant is vital to the operational success of any Planet Fitness club. As the first point of contact for members, guests, and prospective members, the Front Desk Attendant is responsible for creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. This individual serves as the face of the club, greeting guests upon arrival and departure, and providing assistance during check-in. A core part of the position involves promoting Planet Fitness' values by encouraging members to pursue their fitness goals while maintaining adherence to club policies. This role includes managing membership activities such as sign-ups, billing updates, cancellations, transfers, and collections, as well as conducting outreach calls and tours for prospective members to introduce them to the club’s offerings and find the best membership options.
Customer service excellence is paramount in this position. The Front Desk Attendant must handle member concerns with professionalism, resolving issues promptly or escalating to management as needed. Phone calls are answered courteously, and retail sales are processed accurately while supporting sales targets. Beyond member interaction, this role requires cleaning and sanitizing gym equipment, Black Card spa amenities, and shared spaces on schedule. Maintaining cleanliness in restrooms, performing routine safety and policy walkthroughs, and reporting maintenance or facility issues such as broken equipment or leaks are also key responsibilities.
Planet Fitness values candidates with a customer service background, particularly those with six to twelve months of experience, who are at least 18 years old and willing to complete CPR/AED certification provided by the company. Basic computer skills are required to handle membership systems and sales transactions efficiently. Preferred candidates possess a friendly and positive attitude, strong communication skills, empathy, motivation, and integrity. Being a quick learner who can apply training effectively rounds out the ideal profile.

- Must be at least 18 years old
- Willingness to complete CPR/AED certification
- Basic computer proficiency

Job Duties
- Greet members and guests upon arrival and departure, assisting with questions during check-in

- Address and resolve member concerns, escalating to management when appropriate
- Answer phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, assisting with inquiries
