The Front Desk Associate is a vital role within the Planet Fitness team, acting as the welcoming face for all members, guests, and prospective members. This position focuses on delivering superior customer service while upholding the core value of maintaining a judgment-free environment. The Front Desk Associate is responsible for greeting members as they enter and exit the club, answering inquiries, promoting club policies, and assisting with membership services such as sign-ups, billing updates, membership cancellations, and retail transactions. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive and upbeat attitude, and a genuine motivation to help others. In addition to member interaction, the associate also ensures that the club environment is clean, safe, and properly maintained, including sanitizing exercise equipment and spa amenities and addressing maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Job Requirements

  • 6-12 months of experience in a customer service environment is preferred
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • willingness to become CPR/AED certified
  • basic computer proficiency
  • continual standing and moving throughout the club
  • continual communication with members and team
  • ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • ability to safely handle toxic chemicals
  • frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities
  • physical ability to bend, twist, and move in various positions to complete tasks

Job Qualifications

  • 6-12 months of experience in a customer service environment is preferred
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • willing to become CPR/AED certified (training provided)
  • basic computer proficiency

Job Duties

  • Greet members/guests as they enter and exit the club
  • assist with questions or concerns during check-in
  • promote Judgement Free Zone by engaging with members on club floor
  • resolve member concerns and escalate to a manager as needed
  • answer phones and assist callers with inquiries
  • perform membership functions such as sign-ups, billing updates, cancellations, and transfers
  • conduct prospective member calls and tours, assessing membership needs
  • execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals
  • regularly clean and sanitize exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities
  • maintain restrooms ensuring cleanliness and stock
  • perform comprehensive walk-throughs to address safety, policy, and cleanliness issues
  • promptly address maintenance and facility concerns such as broken equipment or leaky fixtures
