Job Description
Aloft Sunnyvale, part of the Shashi Hospitality Group, is a vibrant, tech-forward hotel located in the heart of Sunnyvale, California. Known for its creative design and commitment to providing memorable experiences, Aloft Sunnyvale caters to the next generation of travelers who seek modern, comfortable accommodations combined with exceptional guest service and a lively social environment. Shashi Hospitality Group, an award-winning hotel ownership, development, and management company, operates extensively throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and continues to expand. The group is committed to fostering a culture that empowers every team member to learn, grow, and achieve professional milestones. Aloft Sunnyvale embraces this culture, offering a modern workplace designed to nurture creativity and connection among its staff and guests alike.
The Night Auditor role at Aloft Sunnyvale is a critical position responsible for maintaining the smooth overnight operations of the hotel on weekends. This part-time position involves working the night shift from 11 PM to 7 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, providing overnight hospitality services while handling essential financial auditing tasks to ensure the accuracy of the hotel's financial and operational records. The Night Auditor serves as both a guest service professional and a key operational figure during the night, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and secure while also completing detailed audit functions. This balance of guest interaction and financial responsibility makes the role integral to the hotel’s success.
As the Night Auditor, you will be the front-line representative during overnight hours, ensuring all check-in and check-out processes are managed efficiently and courteously even during busy or challenging periods. You will conduct follow-up calls to confirm guest satisfaction, anticipate needs pro-actively, and respond promptly to any requests. Additionally, you will be responsible for executing the nightly audit procedures within the Property Management System, reconciling all financial transactions, balancing departmental income, and preparing daily accounting and managerial reports for hotel leadership. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Beyond financial duties, the Night Auditor plays a vital role in maintaining an environment of safety and security throughout the night, paying close attention to the property's wellbeing. The position requires reliable attendance and punctuality, as well as demonstrated professionalism during the night shift. A successful candidate will have previous experience in hotel front desk or night audit roles, the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and a thorough understanding of accounting and reconciliation processes.
Working at Aloft Sunnyvale not only provides an opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive hospitality team but also offers career advancement possibilities within the expanding Shashi Group portfolio. Training and development are key components of the company culture, ensuring that every team member is equipped for success. The work environment emphasizes modern technology and creative design to foster an engaging atmosphere for both employees and guests. Offering $21 per hour on a part-time basis, this role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced hotel setting. Join Aloft Sunnyvale and become part of a culture that values innovation, teamwork, and guest satisfaction, helping to create memorable experiences for all who walk through the doors.
