Job Description

Planet Fitness is one of the largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers in the United States, with over 2,000 clubs and continuously expanding. At the heart of our company is a mission to enhance people’s lives by providing a high-quality fitness experience in a welcoming, judgment-free environment. We pride ourselves on building a supportive and engaging culture rooted in core values that prioritize health, wellness, and inclusivity. Being part of the Planet Fitness family means joining a team that cares profoundly about bettering the health and wellbeing of communities nationwide while fostering an environment where everyone feels they belong. Our commitment to a judgment-free zone is central to everything we do, ensuring members and guests feel comfortable and supported at every visit.

The Front Desk Associate at Planet Fitness is a crucial role focused on delivering superior customer service and maintaining the welcoming atmosphere our brand is known for. As a Front Desk Associate, you will be the first point of contact for members, prospective members, and guests as they enter and exit our clubs. You will embody the brand’s values by greeting everyone warmly, assisting with questions or concerns, and promoting the judgment-free culture on the gym floor. This role goes beyond just client interaction; it involves actively helping members on their fitness journey and fostering a motivational environment.

Daily responsibilities include greeting members and guests, helping with membership functions such as sign-ups and billing updates, managing retail transactions, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the club. The position requires regular interaction on the phone and in person, performing tours for prospective members, resolving any concerns, and escalating issues to management when necessary. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining and sanitizing all workout equipment and amenities, keeping restrooms stocked and hygienic, conducting comprehensive club walkthroughs to ensure safety and cleanliness standards, and addressing maintenance issues promptly.

This role is suited for individuals who bring a positive, upbeat attitude and demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a genuine passion for helping others. You will benefit from a work environment that encourages fun and motivation, all while consistently exceeding member expectations. Compensation for this position ranges from $15.92 to $16.92 per hour, with potential adjustments based on factors unrelated to protected class. Planet Fitness also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support employee health, financial security, and work-life balance, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and a free Black Card Membership.

Joining Planet Fitness not only means becoming part of a recognizable and respected brand but also the opportunity to grow professionally within a supportive team. Training is provided, including CPR/AED certification, ensuring team members are well-prepared to handle the responsibilities of the role effectively. If you are a team player who values integrity, communication, and making a difference in people’s lives through fitness, the Front Desk Associate position at Planet Fitness offers a rewarding career path in a thriving, health-conscious company.
