Job Description
The hiring establishment is an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) with locations in Florida and Texas. These ASCs specialize in providing high-quality outpatient surgical services in a professional and patient-focused environment. Known for their commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, these facilities combine state-of-the-art technology with experienced medical staff to ensure smooth procedures and optimal patient outcomes. The centers serve a diverse population and aim to create an efficient, welcoming atmosphere for both patients and their families. A critical component of the ASC's operations is the effective management of the administrative functions, including patient scheduling, front desk responsibilities, and financial coordination.
The Front Desk ASC position is pivotal within the administrative team of the Ambulatory Surgery Center. This role focuses on greeting patients upon arrival and managing the plethora of daily front office tasks that are central to keeping the surgery center's workflow efficient and organized. The front desk specialist is responsible for preparing patient charts daily, scheduling surgeries accurately within the designated HST computer program, and maintaining communication with patients regarding financial expectations ahead of their procedures. Furthermore, the role requires assisting patients with payment plans in adherence to policy, performing co-pay collections, and preparing deposits with accurate logging to safeguard financial transactions.
This job demands a high degree of professionalism and a courteous demeanor when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff alike. Front Desk ASC specialists also contribute by auditing charts periodically and maintaining records of patient satisfaction scores to support the continuous improvement of services. The role requires careful coordination with the electronic medical records (EMR) system and precise handling of documentation such as scanning invoices and filing packing slips. The Front Desk ASC position typically operates Monday through Friday with work hours that may vary depending on the surgical schedule. Candidates taking on this role should expect a dynamic, fast-paced work environment with minor exposure to office-related noise from copy machines, phones, and other equipment.
Overall, the Front Desk ASC role is designed for highly organized individuals who thrive in team-oriented environments and demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills. Mastery of computer programs such as MS Office and aptitude in office machinery operation will be beneficial. An understanding of HIPAA standards is essential to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality remain intact. The selected candidate will be a key part of the patient experience, making a significant impact on the front-line operations of the ASC while supporting the medical staff and contributing to the center's mission to provide excellent outpatient surgical care.
