Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least one year of experience in front desk or guest service roles
  • ability to work flexible hours including night, weekend and holiday shifts
  • physical capability to lift, push and pull objects up to 50lbs including bending and kneeling
  • basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • fluency in the local language

Job Duties

  • be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable guest experience
  • acknowledge IHG rewards club members and returning guests in person or on the phone
  • take and manage guest bookings, up-selling opportunities and telling them about ways to improve their stay
  • handle cash and credit transactions
  • swiftly check guests in and out by taking IDs, handing out room keys, and controlling and releasing safety deposit boxes
  • stay one step ahead of guests' needs by recording and acting on their preferences, handling their messages, requests, questions and concerns
  • be a trusted contact for all guests and assist with issues from bill problems to local knowledge, escalating to management when necessary
  • follow safety procedures, wear protective gear as needed and report all incidents
  • maintain a professional appearance and act as a brand ambassador
  • stay informed about daily events and activities at the hotel
  • assist colleagues with ad-hoc duties as needed
  • communicate effectively to handle guest concerns and compliments
  • utilize problem-solving skills to turn issues into positive experiences for guests
  • demonstrate fluency in the local language, with additional languages considered a bonus
  • maintain literacy and tech-savviness to handle reading, writing, basic math and computer tasks
