We are currently seeking a Front Desk Associate who will be the first point of contact for our guests and an essential part of our front office operations. This role involves greeting and communicating cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel, and assisting with pre-registration and reservation blocking when necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a complete working knowledge of the front office system, whether computer-based or manual, to handle all daily transactions efficiently.
The Front Desk Associate must be proficient in managing cash handling duties, which include receiving payments from guests through various methods such as cash, checks, or credit card transactions, and making accurate change. An essential part of the role involves reviewing reservations with special requests and coordinating room blocking accordingly. Familiarity with hotel rates, discounts, reservation procedures, cancellation, and relocation policies is crucial for this position.
This role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. The successful candidate will exhibit a high work ethic, self-initiative, and a passion for working collaboratively as part of a team dedicated to providing outstanding guest experiences. Physically, the role involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, frequent use of keyboard and office equipment, occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift or move items weighing 10 to 25 pounds when necessary.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential to interact with guests and colleagues professionally. The position may also require the ability to participate in meetings and use telecommunication equipment such as phones or headsets. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to work varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- high work ethic and self-initiative
- ability to work in a standard office environment
- ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
- occasional standing, walking, bending and reaching
- frequent use of hands and fingers for keyboarding, typing and office equipment
- ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- ability to lift and/or move 10-25 pounds as needed
- ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in front desk or hospitality role preferred

Job Duties
- Greet and communicate cordially with guests
- promptly and professionally check guests in and out of the hotel
- assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
- post all charges accurately and efficiently
- manage cash handling including receiving payments and making change
- review reservations with special requests and block rooms accordingly
- have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts, and handle them correctly
- take same day reservations and follow cancellation and relocation procedures
