Job Description

Hotel Marcel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a unique and pioneering hospitality establishment located in the historic Armstrong Rubber Company Building, also known as the Pirelli Building. This mid-century modern architectural gem, originally designed by Marcel Breuer in 1967, has been carefully rehabilitated and adapted for sustainable use. Notably, Hotel Marcel holds the distinction of being the first net-zero energy hotel in the United States and the first hotel to receive Passive House certification. The building achieves sustainability with LEED Platinum certification, utilizing solar power from rooftop and parking canopy solar arrays that supply 100 percent of the electricity used for lighting, heating, and cooling. This commitment to environmental responsibility sets Hotel Marcel apart as a leader in eco-conscious hospitality.

The hotel boasts 165 rooms and features a full-service restaurant, an art gallery, and 7,000 square feet of meeting space, catering to both leisure and business travelers. Guests can expect a boutique experience that blends modern design aesthetics with local character, offering an intimate yet stylish stay. As a member of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, the hotel embraces individuality and local flavor, combining the comfort of a well-known brand with unique experiences that reflect the surrounding community.

The Front Desk Agent role at Hotel Marcel is vital to ensuring a memorable guest experience. This position involves managing guest services such as registration, check-out, handling telephone operations, mail, and message delivery. The Front Desk Agent is expected to maintain precision in daily accounting activities and uphold superior hospitality standards at all times. Employees are encouraged to engage guests with eye contact, a smile, polite conversation, and by using guests' surnames to personalize the experience.

This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in delivering exceptional customer service and who thrive in a dynamic, eco-conscious environment that respects employees’ entrepreneurial spirit while providing a clear framework of support and guidance. The Front Desk Agent will be entrusted with responsibilities such as conducting room pre-assignments, processing guest check-ins and check-outs professionally, managing communications promptly and accurately, and balancing financial transactions conducted during the shift. Collaboration with other departments like Sales, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, and Valet is essential to coordinate seamless guest services.

Candidates will have the opportunity to grow their careers within a forward-thinking company that values sustainability, design, and guest satisfaction. Working at Hotel Marcel means being part of a team committed to not only maintaining high hospitality standards but also pioneering in environmental stewardship within the hotel industry. This unique blend of historic preservation, innovative green technology, and genuine guest care makes the Front Desk Agent position a compelling opportunity for hospitality professionals seeking meaningful and impactful work.
