The role being offered is that of a Front Desk Receptionist, a pivotal position in contributing to the overall guest satisfaction and operational success of the hotel. This role is focused on managing guest reservations, both booking incoming guests and coordinating with central reservation centers to ensure room availability and optimal occupancy. The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for prompt and courteous registration procedures, using up-selling techniques to maximize room revenue. The position entails handling confidential guest information with integrity and professionalism while addressing guest inquiries regarding hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation needs.

Beyond reservations and check-ins, the receptionist supports the hotel’s marketing initiatives as directed by upper management. This includes promoting hotel services and events to guests. Additional responsibilities involve managing guest communications, including answering calls, taking accurate messages, and providing wake-up call services. The role also requires performing light maintenance tasks such as replenishing the continental breakfast area, cleanliness of the lobby, and assisting with laundry functions. The Front Desk Receptionist manages the cash transactions during guest check-outs and maintains detailed daily financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Strong problem-solving abilities are necessary to address guest objections or complaints effectively to maintain a high standard of guest satisfaction. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Books guest reservations and/or coordinates with reservation center
  • Registers guests into the hotel in a prompt and courteous manner using up-selling techniques to maximize room rates
  • Prepares for group check-ins, check-outs, and VIP arrivals
  • Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests
  • Handles confidential information, including guest records, with a high degree of integrity
  • Answers and routes calls as appropriate
  • takes guest messages with accuracy
  • Assists with sales and marketing efforts as directed by the General Manager
  • Offers and properly handles requests for wake-up calls
  • Records pertinent guest information in the pass on log
  • Replenishes continental breakfast as needed and keeps the area clean
  • Ensures common area/lobby is clean

  • Checks guests in and out of the hotel

  • Answers phone in a prompt, efficient, and friendly manner

  • Answers guests questions about the property and amenities and refers and directs guests to area attractions and outlets
  • Arranges for appropriate transportation of guests to and from the hotel when necessary
  • Uses creative reasoning to overcome guest objections and concerns to ensure 100% satisfaction
  • Resolves minor guest complaints to the satisfaction of the customer
  • informs supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances or unhappy guests
  • Responds quickly to guest requests or complaints in a friendly manner and takes appropriate action

  • Completes daily paperwork including cashing out, documenting adjustments, miscellaneous postings, paid-outs, charges and check-outs
  • Handles departmental accounting of monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit

  • Balances cash bag at open and closing of each shift
