This role centers on the Front Desk Receptionist position, a key component of the hotel's guest service team. The Front Desk Receptionist acts as the first and last point of contact for guests, responsible for managing check-ins and check-outs in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. Key responsibilities include handling reservations, processing payments, and accurately posting charges using front office computer systems or manual methods. The ideal candidate will possess thorough knowledge of hotel rates, discounts, and cancellation policies, ensuring smooth operation under all circumstances. Attention to detail is critical, especially when managing cash transactions, handling special guest requests, and maintaining reservation records.

Proficiency in operating reservation systems and handling same-day bookings efficiently is essential, with an expectation to take reservations in approximately two minutes. Additionally, the receptionist must be adaptable, willing to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays, and able to stand for extended periods. A high work ethic, self-initiative, and a desire to be part of a team focused on delivering memorable guest experiences are highly valued traits. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a customer service role preferred
  • Ability to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
  • Promptly, accurately, and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
  • Have complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those that are not performed often
  • Accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks, and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
  • Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
  • Know hotel rates, discounts, and how to handle each
  • Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, including how to take same-day reservations, should be able to take reservations in approximately 2 minutes, know and follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary
