Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • strong communication skills
  • flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • knowledge of gaming regulations is advantageous
  • willingness to learn and cross-train in multiple departments
  • must maintain professional appearance and demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus
  • excellent communication and guest service skills
  • friendly, outgoing and service oriented personality
  • able to work any schedule with frequent changes
  • moderate data entry skills
  • money handling experience
  • able to read and write English sufficiently

Job Duties

  • Adhere to guest service requirement
  • finish job tasks in a timely manner according to department standards
  • follow department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards
  • cross-train in other departments of Hotel Operations as instructed by management
  • maintain uniformed appearance standards while on duty
  • greet guests with a smile and pleasant disposition in a timely manner
  • date-stamp, sort, and rack incoming mail and messages
  • keep record of room availability and guest accounts manually or by computer
  • compute bill, collect payment, and make change for guests
  • post and correct charges to guest’s folios
  • make and confirm room reservations for guests
  • assist in the group sales efforts as specified by PBX Supervisor or Front Desk Supervisor
  • complete all necessary reports as assigned
  • answer all incoming calls routed to the operator professionally
  • direct calls to the proper extension
  • make paging announcements clearly and professionally
  • establish accurate accounts for players based on data entry guidelines and explain the program
  • update player accounts with information changes and obtain missing information
  • answer questions about Star Awards program, packages, services, and promotions
  • accurately identify Elite, Star Club, and ACE Guests for Preferred Player Boarding and other complimentaries
  • gain knowledge of all methods of check tendering
  • gain knowledge of all register and computer functions
  • remain familiar with menu items, pricing, hours of operation and specials
  • keep area neat, clean and stocked with necessary supplies
  • turn in all cash and accounting paperwork properly
  • conduct oneself in a professional and positive manner
  • follow Missouri Gaming Rules and Regulations
  • gain knowledge of coupons and expiration dates
  • assist with training new team members to exceed Ameristar Casino Standards
