The Front Desk Sales Associate role at Grand Fitness Partners is a vital position within the operational team, primarily responsible for delivering superior customer service to both existing Planet Fitness members and prospective members or guests. This role is integral in upholding the company’s Judgement Free Zone® ethos, ensuring every person who walks through the door feels welcomed, supported, and valued. As the first point of contact, Front Desk Sales Associates play a pivotal role in creating positive impressions and fostering long-term member relationships. The position involves greeting members and guests, assisting with queries, resolving issues, and facilitating the sign-up process for new memberships. Additionally, associates engage with members throughout the club to provide assistance and encouragement, contributing to a positive and motivating fitness environment.
Beyond customer interaction, Front Desk Sales Associates are responsible for several operational duties that maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of the club. This includes regularly sanitizing exercise equipment and amenities, ensuring restrooms are stocked and immaculate, and promptly addressing maintenance and facility concerns. The role also involves active participation in sales efforts, including promoting memberships, handling retail transactions, and conducting tours for prospective members to assess and meet their needs. This comprehensive role requires a combination of interpersonal skills, physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to the company’s values. Job Requirements
- 6-12 months of experience in a customer service environment is preferred
- must be 18 years of age
- willing to become CPR/AED certified (training provided)
- basic computer proficiency
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
- ability to talk continuously in person or on the phone during shift
- occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals
- successful completion of background check after offer acceptance
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Willing to become CPR/AED Certified (Training provided by Planet Fitness)
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to continuously talk in person or on the phone during shift
- All background screens will be conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws
Job Duties
- Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club
- assisting them with any questions or concerns as they check in
- Help to promote our Judgement Free Zone® by connecting with members on the club floor, offering assistance and showing support in their fitness journeys while upholding club policies
- Resolve member concerns and escalate to a Manager as needed
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with their inquiries
- Perform membership related functions such as sign-ups, contact/billing information updates, cancellations, collecting unpaid balances and transferring memberships
- Perform prospective member calls and tours
- assessing their membership needs
- Execute retail transactions with accuracy and drive sales goals
- Regular, consistent cleaning and sanitizing of all exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities
- This includes communal spaces as well as your assigned area
- Ensuring restrooms are clean and sanitized, stocked and clutter free by following the routine cleaning schedule
- Frequently perform a comprehensive walk of all club areas
- quickly fix any safety/policy issues and address cleanliness concerns
- Promptly address maintenance and facility concerns such as broken and/or missing equipment (i.e., Dispensers, leaky faucets, fixtures etc.)
- Will occasionally encounter cleaning chemicals during shift
- This role is subject to successful completion of a background check, after offer acceptance
