Job Description

Ono Hawaiian BBQ, celebrating its 20th anniversary, is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in authentic Hawaiian Plate Lunches and other island specialties. With a strong commitment to quality, Ono Hawaiian BBQ uses the freshest ingredients, preparing each dish from scratch daily within its restaurants and grilling meals fresh to order. This dedication to freshness and authentic flavors has helped Ono Hawaiian BBQ grow to over 100 locations across California and Arizona. Known for combining the rich culture and "Aloha" spirit of Hawaii, the restaurants provide a warm and inviting atmosphere alongside exceptional service. This unique combination allows customers to experience a true taste of the Hawaiian islands no matter where they dine.

At Ono Hawaiian BBQ, the focus is on delivering an exceptional dining experience, encapsulated by friendly and attentive service, high-quality food, and a comfortable environment. The brand prides itself on an environment that reflects Hawaii's welcoming atmosphere, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Careers at Ono Hawaiian BBQ are rewarding, offering team members a chance to be part of a family-oriented environment that values its employees and promotes personal growth.

The Front Crew position at Ono Hawaiian BBQ is pivotal to maintaining the high standards that customers expect. As a Front Crew member, you will be the face of the restaurant, directly interacting with guests to ensure their dining experience is enjoyable and seamless. Your responsibilities include greeting customers warmly, taking and accurately inputting their orders into the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, processing payments efficiently, and serving delicious meals with a smile. Maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the dining and service areas is also an essential part of the role, ensuring that health codes and company policies are rigorously followed.

Beyond the day-to-day operations, Front Crew members play a critical role in promoting current marketing promotions and new product items, enhancing customer engagement and driving sales. This role requires reliability and punctuality, whether working on a part-time or full-time basis. Employees benefit from a structured training program that equips them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed and grow within the company.

Working at Ono Hawaiian BBQ means more than just a job; it is a chance to join a dynamic team that upholds the values of integrity, respect, and community. The company also offers competitive compensation alongside a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) matching program for retirement savings, life insurance, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), paid sick time off, and an employee meal discount. Employees also enjoy exclusive discounts at amusement parks, restaurants, movie theaters, spas, and sporting events, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, talking, and hearing for extended periods, as well as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds. Regular hand washing and use of cleaning solutions are necessary, along with reaching, squatting, kneeling, and bending as part of daily tasks. Environmental conditions include working in a hot kitchen with high noise levels and exposure to cold temperatures in walk-in refrigerated areas, alongside the use of various kitchen equipment and tools.

Ono Hawaiian BBQ is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. All employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business needs, ensuring a fair and respectful workplace for everyone. By joining the team, you become part of a vibrant culture that celebrates the spirit of aloha in all aspects of its business.
