Job Description

H-E-B is a prominent supermarket chain known for its commitment to quality, freshness, and excellent customer service across its many grocery stores and food service establishments. With decades of experience in the retail food industry, H-E-B prides itself on offering customers a variety of fresh food options, from groceries to ready-to-eat meals, ensuring a shopping experience that combines convenience, quality, and value. The company culture emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement, making it a leading employer in the food retail sector. The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, where employees play a critical role in maintaining the high standards that H-E-B is famous for, particularly in food safety and customer satisfaction. Employees at H-E-B enjoy working in a supportive atmosphere where professional growth and development are encouraged through hands-on experience and training programs.

The Food Production Cook role at H-E-B is designed for energetic and skilled individuals who thrive in fast-paced restaurant settings. This position focuses on preparing food quickly and efficiently while adhering to the highest standards of quality and food safety. As a Food Production Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients such as cutting, slicing, dicing, and chopping according to established recipes and standard operating procedures. Your role also includes prepping condiments like sauces and dressings to complement the food offerings, ensuring every item served meets H-E-B’s superior quality standards.

In addition to food preparation, maintaining a clean and organized workstation is essential. You will maintain compliance with all food safety and sanitation protocols, managing temperature controls for food items and proper handling of equipment. This role calls for teamwork, as you'll assist in various cooking venues and support catering orders when needed to ensure smooth operations across departments. The Food Production Cook position requires flexible hours, including the willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, accommodating business needs.

This role is ideal for candidates who have a passion for culinary arts and enjoy working in a cooperative and fast-moving environment. Experience in food preparation is preferred but not mandatory, as H-E-B provides opportunities to develop your culinary skills through hands-on work and training. The ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and maintain high standards in food safety makes this an exciting career opportunity in the food service industry with a respected company that values its employees and customers alike.
