Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of bakery experience
  • Completion of company orientation, food safety, and sanitation training upon hire
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and working in varied temperature conditions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and organize work effectively

Job Duties

  • Provide superior customer service
  • Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
  • Answer customer questions regarding products and assist with selections
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales
  • Apply proficient baking and frying skills including equipment setup, operation, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Use production tools to plan baking and frying
  • Apply proper baking and frying techniques according to visual training aids
  • Plan for and break out proper amount of baked goods daily
  • Ensure quality control of all products before sending to sales floor
  • Ensure baked and fried product reaches showcase and tables on time
  • Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
  • Slice, package, label, and rotate products
  • Record production and shrink to aid in production planning
  • Clean and sanitize display cases and maintain production area according to SOPs
  • Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
  • Comply with department and store operating procedures
  • Operate and maintain all equipment properly
