Job Requirements

Minimum age 18
High school diploma or equivalent
At least one year of bakery experience
Completion of company orientation, food safety, and sanitation training upon hire
Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
Strong customer service skills
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and working in varied temperature conditions
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to plan and organize work effectively

Knowledge of computer systems and equipment used in retail

Job Duties

Provide superior customer service
Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
Answer customer questions regarding products and assist with selections
Use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales
Apply proficient baking and frying skills including equipment setup, operation, cleaning, and maintenance
Use production tools to plan baking and frying
Apply proper baking and frying techniques according to visual training aids
Plan for and break out proper amount of baked goods daily
Ensure quality control of all products before sending to sales floor
Ensure baked and fried product reaches showcase and tables on time
Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
Slice, package, label, and rotate products
Record production and shrink to aid in production planning
Clean and sanitize display cases and maintain production area according to SOPs
Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
Comply with department and store operating procedures
Operate and maintain all equipment properly
