We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Warehouse team as a Freight Runner. This role involves essential responsibilities critical to the smooth operation of our warehouse. As a Freight Runner, you play a vital part in ensuring that goods are moved efficiently and accurately from receiving areas to their designated storage or shipping locations within our facility. This position requires a qualified candidate who has experience operating warehouse equipment such as electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and slip sheet/clamp devices. The job demands a commitment to accuracy, safety, and effective communication, all while working within a fast-paced environment that includes temperature-controlled areas such as coolers and freezers.
The Freight Runner position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with rotating Saturdays, beginning at 5:30 am until the work is completed. The hourly wage for this job is set at $18.50, reflecting Nicholas and Company's commitment to competitive compensation. This role requires a motivated individual capable of learning quickly, making sound decisions promptly, and maintaining an organized and safe work area. Key duties include maintaining pallet areas, keeping dock doors closed when not in use, and following strict cleaning and organizational standards for assigned dock areas. You will also be responsible for wrapping pallets after products are separated by product number, restacking products as necessary due to damage or instability, and notifying supervisors about issues such as product temperature or condition discrepancies.

Job Duties
- Maintaining pallet area
- Keep all dock doors closed when not in use
- Keep assigned dock area clean and organized
- Perform within set key performance indicators
- Run freight of received product to designated areas
- Wrap pallets once separation by product number is completed
- Perform unloading load operations with minimal supervision
- Work in temperatures as low as -10 degrees fahrenheit
- Notify lead or supervisor of any concerns such as product temperature, code dates, damages
- Restack product per set expectations due to bad wood, leaning, crushed product, damages
