Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in freight forwarding or logistics
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations
  • Proficiency in shipment processing software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle high-volume and complex transactions
  • Attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials shipping rules

Job Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of import and export regulations

  • Ability to create pricing quotations

Job Duties

  • Review and process shipment transactions for major accounts
  • Provide timely and proactive customer service
  • Establish detailed import and export profiles and procedures
  • Book, bill, classify, and process import and export transactions
  • Obtain consular and government agency releases
  • Check shipment documentation against actual shipments
  • Process bills of lading and instruct team on shipment handling
  • Ensure hazardous materials shipments comply with regulations
  • Create quotations including pricing and transportation selection
  • Monitor shipper export declaration issues and client inquiries
  • Communicate shipping regulation changes to clients and team
  • Identify special handling transactions and recommend improvements
  • Investigate and resolve client concerns proactively
  • Monitor team performance against company standards
  • Alert clients to potential shipping problems
