Job Requirements

  • Three years of experience in a role involving extensive client contact
  • Familiarity with domestic and international geography including countries and major cities
  • Extreme attention to detail, including the ability to predict and circumvent issues before they occur and take proper corrective action
  • Ability to be highly productive while keeping cool under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Freight Forwarding experience preferred
  • Prior use of CargoWise One is a definite plus
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • Computer skills including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word

Job Duties

  • Promote positive relationships by ensuring excellent, timely, and proactive customer service
  • Receive, review, and process high-volume and complex import and export transactions
  • Check shipments in the warehouse to ensure shipping documents match actual shipments
  • Process bills of lading and provide instructions for shipment handling
  • Ensure hazardous materials shipments comply with all applicable regulations
  • Create quotations by estimating prices, selecting transportation companies, and setting profit margins
  • Review and monitor Shipper Export Declaration rejections and government correspondence
  • Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations and communicate changes
  • Identify transactions requiring special handling and recommend process improvements
  • Investigate and resolve client concerns proactively, monitor team performance, and alert clients to potential issues
