Job Description
Franciscan Missionaries University (FranU) is an esteemed Catholic and Franciscan institution dedicated to providing quality higher education rooted in the values of justice, community service, and intellectual tradition. Located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, FranU embodies the Franciscan mission by fostering an inclusive environment that supports student success, professional development, and lifelong learning. The university emphasizes a holistic approach to education, nurturing both mind and spirit, which reflects in its commitment to developing leaders who act with integrity and compassion in their communities.
The Alumni Engagement & Advancement Operations Manager at FranU plays a pivotal role in bridging the university's commitment to its mission with active alumni participation and institutional advancement. This position is responsible for delivering strategic leadership and comprehensive operational support within the Office of Institutional Advancement, ensuring that alumni engagement efforts align with the university's priorities. The dual-focus role balances external outreach to alumni and volunteer leadership with internal advancement operations, fostering cohesive programming and a strong institutional identity.
As the Alumni Engagement & Advancement Operations Manager, you will develop and implement a dynamic alumni engagement strategy, planning and overseeing programs that include on-campus, regional, and virtual events to cultivate lifelong relationships among alumni. This role involves strengthening alumni participation through meaningful engagement opportunities that not only support FranU's Catholic and Franciscan identity but also enhance alumni-to-student connections. You will collaborate with campus stakeholders to link alumni expertise with student mentoring, career networking, and experiential learning, reinforcing alumni's involvement in student success and institutional advancement.
In addition, you will serve as the primary liaison to the Alumni Association and its leadership, fostering volunteer engagement, governance, and membership growth. Coupled with this, you will execute targeted communications strategies in partnership with Marketing and Communications, utilizing newsletters, email campaigns, social media content, and innovative outreach platforms to keep alumni informed and connected to the university community.
Operationally, you will support frontline fundraising initiatives by managing coordination efforts, handling data requests, and streamlining workflows to optimize efficiency across advancement programs. You will manage critical advancement communications and mailings by overseeing vendor coordination and timelines, supporting annual appeals, stewardship communications, and donor outreach. Event planning forms a significant part of your responsibilities, including coordinating key events like the Hall of Distinction and Fête des Fidèles, ensuring seamless planning and successful execution.
This role demands professionalism, confidentiality, and a donor-centered approach in all interactions, nurturing strong relationships with alumni, donors, and university leaders. You are expected to contribute proactively to team efforts, especially during busy periods and major events, acting as a collaborative, problem-solving team member with a warm and welcoming attitude that reflects the university's core values. Reporting to the Director of Development and working closely with Marketing, Communications, and Alumni Association leadership, this position offers an enriching opportunity to impact alumni relations and advancement operations at FranU profoundly.
