Job Description

The hiring establishment is a reputable bakery specializing in a wide range of baked goods, including breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, doughnuts, biscuits, and other pastries. Known for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, the bakery operates with a team of skilled bakers and support staff who work collaboratively to ensure fresh, delicious products are available daily. The bakery environment emphasizes precision, creativity, and efficiency in preparation processes, adhering to established recipes and production schedules. This company values both experienced bakers and those eager to learn, fostering a supportive work atmosphere where each team member’s contribution is essential to success.

This role is designed for a bakery production team member who will operate under general supervision to perform a variety of baking duties that support the overall baking process. The position involves preparing various baked goods such as breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, and other pastries, including applying icings and frostings according to precise recipes. A critical part of this job entails following production schedules meticulously to determine the quantity and variety of items to be baked, along with assembling the necessary supplies and equipment required for daily activities.

The bakery production team member will be responsible for shaping dough for cookies, pies, and fancy pastries, either manually or by using dough rollers and cookie cutters, and for cutting, weighing, molding, proofing, and baking dough while inspecting the quality of products throughout the process. The role demands attention to detail to maintain consistent product quality and includes spreading or sprinkling toppings to enhance specialty baked goods. Furthermore, employees in this position will handle ingredients and supplies received from the main kitchen or pantry, ensuring materials are fresh and correctly stocked.

Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the work area is another essential component of the job, requiring diligent cleaning of utensils, work surfaces, and equipment. The position also requires vigilance to detect spoiled or defective food, ingredients, or equipment, ensuring only the best products are prepared for customers. Meticulous record-keeping skills are necessary to complete production sheets and other required documentation accurately.

Candidates must be prepared to work part-time with opportunities for full-time hours, especially as demand dictates. The work schedule starts early in the morning, typically from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm, ensuring all baked goods are ready for the day. This position offers a dynamic and somewhat physically demanding environment that includes typical bakery conditions such as exposure to heat, noise, and various food aromas. The role suits individuals who have a passion for baking and a dedication to delivering quality products consistently, supported by the necessary baking experience and culinary skills.

Overall, this role provides a valuable opportunity for bakers looking to advance their careers in a structured yet flexible bakery setting. The bakery’s focus on teamwork, customer satisfaction, and quality makes this a gratifying job that engages baking enthusiasts while offering room for growth and skill enhancement.
