Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18
  • experience in restaurant leadership
  • experience in an H-E-B restaurant preferred
  • experience in restaurant POS systems preferred
  • completion of alcohol seller training and cash handling training upon hire
  • ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
  • ability to work extended hours and rotating schedules
  • ability to safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts
  • ability to frequently stand and walk
  • ability to frequently be exposed to wet, cold conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic materials
  • ability to perform various physical activities including reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • adherence to partner safe lifting limits and teamwork for heavy lifting

  • Leadership experience in a restaurant environment
  • expert customer service and communication skills
  • basic culinary knowledge
  • understanding of nutrition values and ingredients preferred
  • strong reading, writing, and math skills
  • strong computer skills including MS Office and internet

Job Duties

  • Provide work direction
  • directly supervise partners
  • act as communication conduit for management
  • train partners on customer service, compliance, food safety, sanitation, equipment operation
  • work with manager at peak times
  • perform closing responsibilities
  • serve as backup to manager
  • assist in inventory control and purchasing
  • perform front of house service duties
  • provide superior customer service
  • promote a safe environment
  • answer customer questions
  • assist with menu and beverage selections including alcoholic beverages
  • provide detailed information on menu items, specials, beer and wine
  • address complaints and resolve problems to build relationships
  • merchandise products effectively
  • use suggestive selling techniques
  • perform front of house partner duties frequently
  • perform back of house duties including food preparation, plating, and ingredient ordering
  • ensure compliance with TABC regulations
  • ensure compliance with department and store SOPs
  • ensure completion of logs
  • ensure cleanliness and sanitation of sales floor, display cases, prep areas, and equipment
