Job Requirements
- Previously held an H-2B visa before
- Be a Honduran citizen within Honduran territory during the hiring process
- Over 21 years old
- Valid passport for at least 12 months before its expiration
- Not holding an overextended stay with a tourist visa
- Not having an illegal immigration record in the US
- No criminal record and must present certificate proof (Constancia de Antecedentes Penales)
Job Qualifications
- Proven cooking experience as a cook, prep cook or kitchen helper
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Advanced English skills (C1 level)
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work collaboratively within a kitchen team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food safety standards
- Capable of managing multiple kitchen tasks efficiently under supervision
Job Duties
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow the executive or sous chefs instructions
- Clean up the station and take care of leftover food
- Wash dishes and other utensils
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Follow prep lists created by chefs to plan duties including measuring ingredients, washing, chopping produce, mixing sauces, parboiling food, and testing quality of cooked/prepared food
- Detect and dispose of spoiled foods that do not meet company standards
- Promote a safe culture in all workplace areas including food safety, customer safety, and team member safety
