Job Description

Our hiring establishment is a dedicated school district food services department committed to delivering nutritious and delicious meals to students across multiple school sites. This organization focuses on supporting the educational community by providing excellent food service operations that promote the well-being and academic performance of students. The district takes pride in fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where every staff member plays an essential role in sustaining the quality and safety of the meal programs. With an emphasis on reliability, adaptation to dynamic environments, and teamwork, the food services department strives to meet the diverse needs of all its schools through effective collaboration and consistent service excellence.

The role of Food Service Worker Floater is a unique and flexible full-time position designed for individuals who excel in dynamic, fast-paced work settings and enjoy contributing to various school kitchen teams. Unlike typical food service roles, this job involves traveling between multiple school locations within the district, filling in where help is needed and ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations. The floater is responsible not only for preparing meals according to set recipes and adhering to food safety guidelines but also for maintaining cleanliness and organization in different kitchen environments. This role requires a proactive attitude, adaptability to different team dynamics and work routines, and a strong commitment to health and safety standards.

As a Food Service Worker Floater, you will build strong connections with multiple school communities, supporting students, staff, and guests by serving nutritious meals and maintaining optimal kitchen operations. The position demands flexibility as you will be moving frequently to varied sites, responding quickly to changes, and assisting with numerous tasks such as restocking food lines, receiving deliveries, and performing cleaning duties like sweeping and mopping. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring that every child receives quality food service consistently across the district, even in the face of absences and fluctuations in staff availability.

This role is perfect for candidates who have previous experience or a strong interest in food service, enjoy multitasking, and thrive in environments where every day brings different challenges and opportunities. Reliable transportation is necessary as travel between sites is integral to the job. The weekly schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended weeks based on demand. Beyond the functional responsibilities, the ideal candidate values diversity, works respectfully with a wide range of colleagues, and enjoys being a part of the school community dedicated to nurturing children's growth and learning.

Overall, the Food Service Worker Floater position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking meaningful work that benefits their community while providing variety, engagement with multiple teams, and a supportive work atmosphere within a respected school district food services operation. If you are dependable, adaptable, and ready to flex your skills where they are needed most, this role invites you to make a real difference by ensuring quality meals and service throughout the district.
