The employer values dependable team players who take pride in their work, enjoy working alongside others, and are enthusiastic about supporting their community through meaningful work.
The Food Service Worker position is a full-time role designed for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and want to contribute directly to a positive dining experience in a school cafeteria. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, serving food, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and supporting coworkers to ensure efficient service. The job is suitable for those with either prior food service experience or newcomers eager to learn and grow within the field. Responsibilities extend from preparing and serving meals according to safety and recipe standards to managing inventory, cleaning duties, and adhering to local, state, and federal health regulations.
In this role, you will be actively engaged in a range of tasks to guarantee the smooth operation of the lunch service and overall cafeteria functions. You will help stock serving lines and ensure that food storage and rotation practices meet required sanitation standards. Your courtesy and professionalism while serving students, staff, and visitors bolster a positive environment critical for an enjoyable dining experience. Furthermore, collaboration and teamwork are essential as you step in to assist colleagues and cover shifts when necessary, demonstrating flexibility and dedication.
Physical demands include standing for an entire shift, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and performing activities like bending, reaching, and walking in a moderately noisy, fast-paced kitchen setting. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday full-time, with occasional extended hours and participation in company meetings or events as required. The position requires passing a background check and fingerprint screening, ensuring the safety and trustworthiness required in a school setting. Reliable transportation is also necessary.
