Job Description
Dragon Alley is Huntsville's premier Asian Street Food inspired restaurant and bar, known for offering an immersive dining experience combining live music, crafted cocktails, and authentic handmade dumplings. As a vibrant and dynamic culinary establishment, Dragon Alley is celebrated for its unique fusion of traditional Asian flavors and contemporary street food style. It provides a lively atmosphere that appeals to food enthusiasts, music lovers, and social diners alike. The restaurant boasts big screens throughout its venue, ideal for enjoying sports events or special celebrations, adding to its bustling and friendly environment.
The role of a Food Runner at Dragon Alley is essential in maintaining the high standards of service that the restaurant is known for. This position acts as a critical link between the kitchen and guests, ensuring that each dish is delivered accurately, swiftly, and with impeccable presentation. The Food Runner supports both the kitchen staff and waitstaff by facilitating a smooth and seamless flow during the busiest hours, making sure that guests receive their meals at the optimal point of freshness. This role demands a quick-paced, attentive individual who excels in a high-energy environment and demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills.
As a Food Runner, the successful candidate will be responsible for promptly delivering orders from the kitchen to the correct tables using memorized table numbers and designated pivot points. Inspecting dishes before they leave the kitchen to verify quality, correct garnishing, and appropriate temperature is vital. The Food Runner serves as a key liaison between the front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) staff, effectively communicating any special guest requests, dietary restrictions, or order issues to the chefs. Additionally, the Food Runner anticipates guest needs by providing condiments, extra silverware, or beverage refills during the delivery process to enhance the guests' dining experience.
Maintaining a tidy dining area is another crucial aspect, involving assistance with clearing empty plates and glassware between courses. The role also includes managing the expeditor or running station by keeping it stocked with necessary supplies such as garnishes, sauces, and clean tray liners. Dragon Alley offers flexible employment types including full-time and part-time positions, paying between $5.00 and $10.00 per hour plus tips. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality, eager to develop their skills in a bustling restaurant setting, and who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments. No prior education is required, and paid training is provided to ensure the Food Runner is well-equipped to excel in the role.
