Walmart Supercenter #2010, located at 2107 S 11th St, Niles, MI, is part of Walmart Inc., one of the world's largest retail chains known for offering a wide range of products at competitive prices. This supercenter provides a comprehensive shopping experience including groceries, electronics, apparel, and household goods, serving a diverse customer base with quality merchandise and excellent customer service. Walmart is a Fortune 500 company committed to innovation, sustainability, and community well-being, providing stable and rewarding career opportunities to its associates.
The Food and Consumable Associate role at Walmart Supercenter #2010 is a full-time position focused on delivering outstanding customer service and effective merchandising. The primary responsibilities include moving incoming merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor and creating seasonal display features that align with customer needs and preferences. This role ensures that the sales floor remains well-stocked and visually appealing, contributing directly to a positive shopping experience and Walmart's overall retail objectives.
Associates in this position work primarily during mid-shifts and closing hours, providing essential support to maintain store operations smoothly during these periods. Compensation ranges from $14 to $27 per hour, with the actual wage meeting or exceeding the mandated minimum wage for the location. Additional performance-based incentives are offered annually or quarterly, recognizing the associate's contributions toward the store’s performance. In addition, premiums ranging between $0.35 and $3.00 per hour may be awarded depending on factors such as work schedule, specific tasks performed, the facility, or the season, potentially accumulating if multiple conditions apply.
Walmart takes great pride in fostering a healthy and supportive work environment. Associates enjoy a competitive pay package with various benefits designed to enhance their well-being both inside and outside the workplace. These include comprehensive health coverage options like medical, dental, and vision insurance, financial benefits including a 401(k) plan, stock purchase options, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off is also generous, covering parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting. Additional benefits include short-term and long-term disability coverage, company discounts, military leave pay, and reimbursement for adoption and surrogacy expenses.
Walmart provides a unique educational benefit through its Live Better U program, available to full-time and part-time associates. This initiative offers free tuition, book costs, and fees for various educational opportunities ranging from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees, English language learning, and short-form certificate programs. This benefit demonstrates Walmart's commitment to the personal growth and career development of its workforce.
Employment at Walmart is governed by policies ensuring a safe and drug-free workplace, with a strict no-tolerance policy for illegal drug and alcohol use on the job. These standards help maintain a productive, secure, and respectful work atmosphere for all associates. Overall, the Food and Consumable Associate role is ideal for individuals seeking a stable, full-time position with competitive wages, growth opportunities, and excellent benefits within a leading retail environment.
