Job Description
Walmart Supercenter #5197, located at 330 Sutton Rd SE, Owens Cross Roads, AL, is a part of the globally recognized Walmart corporation known for retail excellence and community engagement. As one of the largest retail chains worldwide, Walmart is dedicated to providing customers with quality products at affordable prices across a wide array of departments. The Supercenter operates as a full-service retail store that combines groceries, general merchandise, and other services under one roof, making it a convenient destination for millions of shoppers.
This particular opportunity is for a part-time Food and Consumable Associate at Walmart Supercenter #5197. The role is essential to the store’s operations, focusing primarily on customer service and merchandising. Food and Consumable Associates are responsible for handling incoming merchandise, ensuring that products are efficiently moved from receiving areas to the sales floor. They are also tasked with creating attractive seasonal displays that enhance the shopping experience and meet customers’ needs. This dynamic role requires a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of product presentation.
The compensation for this position ranges from $15 to $28 per hour, reflecting the associate’s experience, role complexity, and local wage requirements. Additional compensation may be awarded through performance-based incentives on an annual or quarterly basis, and premiums based on factors such as schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed may also apply. These premiums can range from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, and multiple premiums may apply concurrently when criteria are met.
As a part-time associate, typical shifts available include opening and morning hours, offering flexibility that can accommodate varied schedules. Beyond monetary compensation, Walmart invests in the well-being and development of its team members, providing an impressive suite of benefits even for part-time employees. These benefits include comprehensive health coverage options, such as medical, vision, and dental insurance, and financial benefits like a 401(k) plan, stock purchase programs, and company-paid life insurance.
Associates also enjoy paid time off policies covering parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting. Short-term and long-term disability plans, along with company discounts, Military Leave Pay, and adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, further support employees and their families. Notably, Walmart’s Live Better U education program offers tuition, books, and fees fully covered for high school completion, bachelor’s degrees, English Language Learning, and certificates, making Walmart a great place to build both a career and educational credentials.
Walmart is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace with a strict no-tolerance policy for illegal drugs and alcohol to ensure a safe and productive environment. This role represents a chance to join a world-class retail team dedicated to delivering outstanding service and innovative merchandising solutions in a supportive and rewarding workplace environment.
