Job Description
Walmart Supercenter #529, located in La Marque, TX, is part of the globally recognized Walmart brand, one of the world’s leading retailers. Walmart is known for its commitment to providing customers with a wide array of products at everyday low prices, operating thousands of stores worldwide. As a major player in the retail industry, Walmart offers a dynamic and fast-paced working environment where employees are valued for their contribution towards delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a high standard for merchandise presentation and store upkeep. Working at Walmart means joining a diverse community driven by innovation, teamwork, and the shared goal of helping people save money and live better. The company is deeply invested in offering its employees competitive wages, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
This particular position is for a Food and Consumables Associate at Walmart Supercenter #529, part-time with opening and morning shifts available. The wage for this role ranges from $14 to $27 per hour, with the actual hourly rate determined to meet or exceed the minimum wage requirements of the job location. Additionally, employees have the opportunity to earn quarterly or annual performance incentives as part of their total compensation. Premium pay ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour may also be awarded in specific circumstances such as seasonal demands, special shifts or particular facilities, with multiple premiums potentially applying concurrently.
The Food and Consumables Associate plays a vital role in the store by focusing on two core responsibilities: providing excellent customer care and creatively merchandising the food and consumable sections. This means associates are involved in moving merchandise from receiving docks to the sales floor efficiently, ensuring shelves are stocked and products are displayed attractively to enhance the customer experience. Seasonal displays and other promotional features are created by the associate to meet both customer needs and sales objectives while maintaining a neat, organized, and safe shopping environment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a team setting and have an eye for detail, as well as a passion for retail operations and customer interaction.
Working at Walmart comes with a range of benefits designed to support the health, financial security, and well-being of its associates. Employees receive medical, vision, and dental coverage, along with financial benefits such as 401(k) retirement plans, stock purchase opportunities, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off options include parental leave, family care leave, bereavement leave, jury duty leave, and voting leave. Walmart also offers extra benefits like short-term and long-term disability insurance, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, and reimbursement for adoption and surrogacy expenses. Education is also a focus; through the Live Better U program, associates can pursue degrees and certifications with tuition and fees fully covered by Walmart.
Moreover, Walmart maintains a strict drug-free workplace policy to ensure a safe, healthy, and productive working environment for all employees. This comprehensive approach to employee welfare highlights Walmart’s dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive culture where associates are encouraged and rewarded for their efforts.
