The Food Unit Lead position available at Long Beach School District in Long Beach, MS, is a full-time role that operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. This role is a key supervisory and leadership position within the school’s food service team. The Food Unit Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the activities of food-service employees, ensuring that meal preparation and service meet company standards for quality, safety, and presentation. This role demands a leader who can maintain an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors alike, while ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to sanitation and safety regulations.

This position requires previous food service and kitchen supervisory experience, particularly within a K-12 educational setting, which is highly preferred. The Food Unit Lead not only supervises staff but is involved in training, scheduling, and motivating team members to achieve excellence in food preparation and service delivery. Their responsibilities include planning menus, ensuring timely and efficient meal service, managing inventory and cash reports, and handling customer service issues promptly and professionally. The Food Unit Lead also conducts proper cash handling procedures, oversees ordering of supplies, and enforces compliance with sanitation schedules and safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service supervision
  • preferred experience in a K-12 setting
  • ability to work full time Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
  • basic computer skills for reporting

Job Duties
