The part-time Food Transporter/Delivery Driver position at Baylor University centers on delivering food, supplies, and related products to various units and service areas within the campus. Operating under a flexible schedule with shifts primarily between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, this role offers a pay range of $14.00 to $19.00 per hour. The position demands attention to quality control and safety standards, ensuring all deliveries meet company sanitation and temperature requirements. The Food Transporter collaborates closely with staging clerks and other team members to load, unload, and verify production orders, maintaining inventory accuracy and vehicle cleanliness. Beyond transportation duties, the role involves collecting empty containers and unsold items, performing routine maintenance of the delivery vehicle, and providing excellent customer service through careful attention to detail.
Candidates who have prior experience in transport, food service, and customer service are preferred, enhancing their ability to navigate the dynamic environment of campus food delivery. The position requires a valid state driver’s license and a valid food handler’s permit where applicable. Emphasis is placed on safe operation of vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and adherence to sanitation and safety guidelines within food handling processes. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in transport, food service, or customer service preferred
- valid state driver’s license
- valid food handler’s permit where required
- ability to work varied day shifts between 9 am and 1 pm
- ability to perform physical duties including loading and unloading
- commitment to follow sanitation and safety standards in food handling
- ability to maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine maintenance

Job Duties
- Pick up requisitioned supplies from staging clerk
- receive completed production orders from staging clerk
- inventory items to ensure completion of production orders
- load orders onto truck with assistance of staging clerks in a safe and orderly manner
- unload requisitioned materials at delivery site
- follow sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment
- ensure hot and cold food items comply with company standards and sanitation requirements
- collect empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise
- maintain general cleanliness of assigned vehicle
- perform routine maintenance on truck
- interact with coworkers to ensure company service standards
- provide quality customer service via one-on-one attention to detail
- perform other duties as assigned
