The Food Supervisor role at SodexoMagic represents a dynamic leadership position responsible for overseeing daily food service operations at various high-energy venues, including fast casual dining, coffee counters, cafeterias, events and banquets, casual dining establishments, and cafes. Based at Wayne State University, this full-time position offers an hourly pay range of $21.00 to $23.00. Within this role, you will manage and coordinate staff activities, support the management team, and ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality service environment.

As a Food Supervisor, you will be expected to be a master multitasker who is passionate about improving quality of life through food service excellence. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing routine work performed by service employees, facilitating employee training and orientation, maintaining a safe workplace, and ensuring customer satisfaction through attentive service and problem resolution. The role demands flexibility in workdays and shifts, with open availability preferred, to accommodate the varying demands of the food service venues. You will be the critical link between the management team and frontline employees, empowering your team to deliver outstanding food service experiences that align with SodexoMagic’s standards of quality and safety.

The ideal candidate for this position is team-oriented, adaptable, and reliable, with at least one year of related food service experience. Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not mandatory. A valid driver's license is required, ensuring that candidates are mobile and flexible for the assignment. Job Duties

  • Provide support to management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business
  • Assist in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees
  • Facilitate orientation and training of employees
  • Work with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned depending on business necessities and client requirements
