Hospital Sisters Health System Rehabilitation Hospital is a new inpatient rehabilitation facility set to open in 2026, offering 40 beds dedicated to providing exceptional rehabilitative care. The Food Services Manager role at HSHS Rehabilitation Hospital is a pivotal position. This full-time role involves overseeing all facets of the Nutritional Services Department operations to ensure provision of high-quality food service to patients, visitors, and staff alike. The manager will direct menu planning, food preparation, purchasing, sanitation, and safety standards across the department. They will be responsible for managing staffing and budgeting, implementing departmental training, and collaborating effectively with other hospital departments. This role requires a professional with proven expertise in food services within healthcare settings, ideally with experience in acute care or skilled nursing facilities. Additionally, the Food Services Manager will organize food services for hospital events such as medical staff meetings, board meetings, and recognition dinners. Job Requirements
- Associates degree in dietetics or bachelor’s degree in coursework approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) preferred but not required
- food service manager certification/license if required by state
- SERV SAFE certified
- experience in managing food services in a healthcare facility, preferably acute care or skilled nursing, highly preferred
- ability to plan menus and control food costs
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to collaborate with medical and nursing staff
- commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Determines quality and quantity of food, plans and prepares master menus, supervises the planning of menus for therapeutic diets and controls food costs
- supervises food production and service programs, as well as managing departmental personnel involved
- ensures food preparation for optimal nutrition including attention to various age groups of patients and economic handling of food, as well as efficient usage of time
- plans menus, purchases food, and assigns duties for special functions such as medical staff meetings, board meetings, recognition dinners, and other related hospital functions
- checks food for flavor, temperature, and appearance on a regular basis
- confers with other departments such as the medical and nursing staff regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dietetic service
