Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in management or food and nutrition services preferred
  • five years or more of related experience managing multiple locations required
  • prior school food service experience preferred
  • equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • successful background check and references required
  • legal right to work in the United States verified within 72 hours of employment
  • School Nutrition Specialist certification obtained within six months
  • ServSafe Manager certification obtained within three months

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in management or food and nutrition services preferred
  • five years or more of related experience managing multiple locations required

Job Duties

  • Upholds CEC's beliefs found on the CEC website
  • manages food service personnel in food production, inventory management, sanitation, work schedules, Point-of-Sale management and training, cash collection, safety record keeping, purchasing, and bids
  • provides training to kitchen staff and food service coordinators
  • collaborates with the Food Services Business Manager on budget estimates
  • oversees recipe and menu development and nutrient analysis
  • coordinates kitchen equipment repairs
  • sets food, meal, and vending snack prices according to CDE regulations
  • supports the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program
  • serves as subject matter expert for Food Services Department applications
  • conducts employee interviews and implements new hire training
  • manages NSLP menu compliance
  • fosters a positive, team-centered culture
  • serves as substitute in kitchen production as needed
  • ensures accurate record-keeping and documentation
  • supports front of house operations
  • drives quality assurance, meal schedules, food production sheets, and innovative recipes
  • ensures compliance with food safety laws and documents training
  • attends meetings and professional development
  • manages the Farm-to-School program supporting local agriculture
  • performs other duties as assigned
