BayCare Health System is proud to be one of the largest employers in the Tampa Bay area, offering a comprehensive network of 16 community-based hospitals, a long-term acute care facility, home health services, outpatient centers, and thousands of physicians. With support from more than 30,000 team members, BayCare embraces a forward-thinking philosophy grounded in trust, dignity, respect, responsibility, and clinical excellence. This broad healthcare system is dedicated to ensuring the health and well-being of the communities it serves through high-quality care and community engagement.
The Food and Nutrition Services department at BayCare plays an essential role within this expansive healthcare network, focusing on providing nutritious and safe meal options to patients, guests, and staff. The available position offers an opportunity to join the team at Mease Dunedin, one of the system's key facilities. Within the role, the employee will be tasked with delivering exceptional food service while maintaining strict standards of cleanliness and food safety. This is a PRN (pro re nata or as-needed) role with varied shift hours and every other weekend work, offering flexibility along with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care and satisfaction.
The incumbent will be responsible for preparing food or drink items, assembling and delivering patient trays or catering event meals, and ensuring cleanliness through daily washing of dishes and sanitation of work areas. Additionally, they will handle food and supply deliveries, managing inventory using FIFO (first in, first out) principles to maintain quality and safety standards. The position serves as a crucial liaison between patients, guests, physicians, other hospital personnel, and the Food and Nutrition Services team, facilitating communication to enhance service delivery. This role supports the fundamental mission of BayCare by providing excellent hospitality services that uphold the institution's high standards of care and professionalism.
