Job Requirements

  • Have or be willing to obtain a Food Handler's permit
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Available to work Wednesdays through Saturdays with specified hours
  • Demonstrate empathy and professionalism in trauma-informed environments
  • Clear communication skills and teamwork orientation
  • Physical stamina to work in a busy kitchen setting
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food preparation and kitchen management
  • Knowledge of FIFO and kitchen safety practices
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience with food tracking software is a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English or another community language preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare daily meals with attention to consistency and quality
  • Implement and maintain FIFO system for food inventory
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards
  • Supervise and support cook and kitchen staff
  • Manage food supplies and assist with lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Collaborate with staff across departments to coordinate meal services
  • Maintain accurate food preparation records and assist with food tracking software
